U4GM What Range and Throws Beat Rocketeer Drones in Speranza

Out in Speranza, Rocketeer drones don't beat you with armour, they beat you with nerves. People see something buzzing and immediately hold the trigger down, like it's a shooting gallery. Doesn't work. If you want a calmer approach, it helps to prep your kit ahead of time and plan your route; even skimming an ARC Raiders BluePrint list can nudge you toward tools that actually solve the problem instead of just making noise.

Stop feeding the panic

The minigun thing? Yeah, everyone tries it once. The spread turns your "wall of bullets" into a light breeze, and the drone just keeps juking while you're chewing through ammo and attention. You'll do better with a weapon you can place shots with. Burst fire, reset, burst again. Don't chase the drone like you're swatting a fly. Track where it's going to be, not where it is right now. Also, don't get hypnotised by the sound. That rocket wind-up is meant to make you freeze or rush. Make yourself do the opposite.

Range is your real shield

There's a pocket where Rocketeers feel way less scary, and it's roughly 20 to 30 metres. Inside 20, you're basically volunteering for splash damage, especially in those tight ridgelines where you've got nowhere to roll. Past 30, you start missing the little movements, and your shots turn into guesses. In that mid-range, you can actually read the drone's body language. When it flares to stabilise, you've got time to step off-line and you've got enough space to see the rocket leave the tube. That's when you move, not after the explosion.

Win with gadgets, not ego

Tacticals are the quiet answer. EMP-style throws, sticky explosives, anything that interrupts their hover and turns their "perfect angle" into a fall. The pattern's pretty consistent: they dart, they arc, then they pause to line up. That pause is your paycheck. If you're near the Warehouse Airshaft ridges, you can use the height to toss into their path instead of lobbing straight up like a desperate fireworks show. One clean disable and they tumble, and the whole fight ends before it drags half the valley into it.

Keep moving and keep stocked

Don't plant your feet. Rocketeers punish statues. Use the slope, dip behind a rusted beam, break line-of-sight for a heartbeat, then re-peek from a different angle. It feels messy, but it keeps you alive. And if you're running low on the stuff that makes this strategy work, that's when planning matters; plenty of players top up essentials or hunt specific gear through U4GM, so they can stay focused on spacing, timing, and clean throws instead of scrambling mid-fight.
